Event Continuity Summary
The organisers of the Intersport Townsville Triathlon and Multisport Festival (TTMF) are committed to delivering another exceptional event in 2020 despite the current challenges caused by COVID-19. As this situation is constantly changing TTMF will be regularly reviewing the situation and will provide timely updates to the event plans if they are required.
Following is a list of matters and our responses to queries that have been topical to date;
Government “ban” on non-essential 500+ person events – the 2020 TTMF is scheduled to be held in a little under 5 months time. Expert advice currently indicates that the worst of the virus will be over by this time. Whilst we hope and expect that this is the case the TTMF will continually monitor and follow the advice provided by the Authorities to ensure the health and safety of competitors and the general community.
Should the “ban” not be removed in sufficient time for the organisers and competitors to finalise their event plans an alternative date on which the event can be held will be identified and communicated. If this is the case it may be necessary to revise the event schedule which will also be clearly communicated (if required).
Refunds – In the unlikely situation that the event is cancelled due to COVID-19 registered competitors will be entitled to receive a refund of their entry fee.
Entry Transfers – Should the event be cancelled or postponed due to COVID-19 registered competitors can choose to have their entry transferred to another competitor or carried forward to the 2021 event, where practical.
The TTMF is committed to the health and well being of the community and will continue to follow the guidelines of public health authorities and agencies.
